Florida contractor starts manufacturing its own brand of AC units

Louis Bruno is offering a 10-year, full parts-and-labor warranty on the new units, which he said will last more than twice as long as an air conditioner with standard components in Southwest Florida.

The News-Press, a Fort Myers, Fla., newspaper reports that Bruno Air Conditioning, Bonita Springs. Fla., is manufacturing its own AC units.

Louis Bruno, owner of Bruno Air, said the company started installing the units in Southwest Florida over the past two weeks and expects to expand soon to Tampa and Orlando.

“I had never heard of anything like that before,” said Francis Dietz, director of communications at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute, which represents the manufacturers of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
